Community In Schools

​Communities In Schools of Lake County (CISLC) is a proud partner of School City of East Chicago. CISLC is a nationally recognized dropout prevention organization that works in - house at E.C. Central High School. We provide students with integrated services in an effort to help achieve an overall goal of students graduating and achieving success in life. Among the list of services offered by CISLC is Credit Recovery. Credit Recovery is designed to assist students to get on track in hopes of earning their credits and graduating on time. CISLC also offers after-school tutoring and homework help through the Youth P.L.U.S. program. Youth P.L.U.S. is Monday-Thursday from 3:15-5:15. It is designed for students to receive academic assistance in various subject areas. Students are encouraged to participate at least twice a week. Furthermore, students that are interested in learning more about college and preparing for college would be interested in Charting For Success, a college preparedness program offered by CISLC.
